Building Less of Me Foundation
Most families care deeply about the values they hope to pass on to their children. Gratitude. Empathy. Responsibility. A sense of care for others. But values are rarely built through conversation alone. They are shaped through repeated experiences inside the everyday moments of family life. Less of Me was created to help families intentionally create those experiences. We work with families to turn meaningful moments, starting with birthdays, into opportunities where children participate in giving and community care. Through simple tools, conversation guides, and connections to local nonprofits, families are able to practice generosity together in ways that feel real and memorable. The goal is not simply giving for its own sake. The goal is helping families cultivate the habits and reflections that strengthen the values they want to live by.
Why Start With Families
Children encounter powerful outside influences every day. Peer pressure, comparison, consumer culture, and social expectations often shape how they see themselves and the world around them. When families create intentional spaces to reflect on what matters and act on those values together, children develop stronger tools to navigate those pressures. They learn empathy by encountering real needs in their community. They learn gratitude by seeing the impact of generosity. They develop a sense of responsibility for others. These experiences do not happen automatically. They must be practiced. Less of Me exists to help families practice them consistently.
What We Are Building
Less of Me is currently in its early stage of development. We are working with a small group of pilot families and building partnerships with local nonprofit organizations who receive donated items and resources from participating families. These early pilots allow us to refine the model, strengthen our toolkit for families, and document how these experiences shape family conversations and behavior over time. At the same time, we are building the operational structure needed for the organization to grow responsibly.
Why Early Support Matters
Launching an organization that works closely with families and community partners requires careful preparation. Before scaling, we are focusing on building the foundation that allows the model to operate well.
That includes:
• refining the family toolkit and program materials
• building nonprofit partnerships that receive donated items
• documenting early family experiences and outcomes
• establishing the operational infrastructure required for responsible growth
This work allows Less of Me to grow intentionally rather than quickly.
Our Current Status
Less of Me Foundation has received federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law. EIN: 41-3768700.
The Next Step
To support this early phase, we are launching our Founding Families Campaign. This campaign invites early supporters to help build the first season of Less of Me Foundation and make the pilot phase possible. These supporters will help create the foundation that allows the work to grow and reach more families in the future.

Strong families don’t happen by accident. Less of Me helps families intentionally cultivate values like empathy, gratitude, and service through meaningful giving experiences.

What the First $50,000 Makes Possible
The first phase of Less of Me focuses on building the foundation that allows the organization to operate responsibly while launching our pilot families. Over the first six months, these funds support four critical areas.
Leadership Capacity
Strong organizations require consistent leadership to coordinate families, partnerships, and program development.
This portion supports the time required to:
• guide pilot families through the experience
• build and maintain nonprofit partnerships
• oversee program development and documentation
• lead fundraising and organizational development
Pilot Family Experiences
Early families help shape the model.
Funding supports:
• family toolkit materials
• coordination and support during the experience
• documentation and storytelling from families
• refining the structure based on real participation
Community Partnerships
Families participating in Less of Me connect directly with nonprofit organizations in their community.
Funds support:
• partnership development
• donation coordination
• communication with partner organizations
• identifying real needs within communities
Organizational Infrastructure
Responsible nonprofit work requires strong operational systems from the beginning.
This includes:
• bookkeeping and financial management
• insurance and compliance
• technology platforms
• administrative support that allows the organization to function properly
Together, these investments create the foundation that allows Less of Me to test, refine, and responsibly grow the model.
We are inviting a small group of early supporters to help launch the first season of Less of Me Foundation.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the first six months of pilot families and operational stability.
Supporters can help by:
• making a founding gift
• connecting us to aligned supporters
• introducing families who may want to participate
